I just bought an Oculus Quest 2 on Wednesday, having almost no experience with VR or gaming. I have to say, I am super impressed and having so much fun. Quarantined days and evenings have very much improved!
To start I have rummaged through all the freebies to get used to the headset, controls and VR in general before buying games. I have some mobility issues, so it’s best for me to remain seated, but I can manage at times to stand and move around.

Has anyone played a Poker Stars Home game on iOS yet? It looks like feature was silently rolled out on the PokerStars Lite App (iPhone & iPad). Any thoughts on user friendliness and if the interface works well for rebuy tournaments?
Instructions to get there: Open PokerStars Lite app > More (bottom right) > Home Games. Then you can select a club and game type then press show game

PokerStars Home Games Now On Mobile
PokerStars has today launched a massive update to its Home Games product, making them available on the mobile app in addition to adding several new game formats.
Previously, Home Game players had to be at home, literally, because they were only available on the downloadable desktop PokerStars client. Now Home Games are available on the excellent mobile app, meaning players have more freedom than ever before when it comes to competing against their friends, being able to play poker on mobile as well.
New game formats are now available. PokerStars has removed some of the lesser played games and added some new variants. You can now create cash games and tournaments in the following disciplines, so you'd better brush up on your poker rules!

Hi guys, whenever I try to load a wesbite that probably has some kind of restriction such as gambling or porn or whatever, it just straight up doesn't load. I get the "this site can't be reached" page every single time with "ERR_CONNECTION_RESET"
I first noticed when my pokerstars app was coming up with browser errors. I couldn't access my cashier or home games (basically any other pop up in-game)
Every other "normal" website (YouTube, miniclip for example) loads fine, but examples of one's that dont:
Pokerstars 888 poker Betfair Pornhub GGpoker
All of them come up the same. If I press reload, it comes up ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR
I have cleared all history, cookies, cache, tried to fiddle with advanced settings, I can't seem to make a difference. This is a new thing, I've downloaded and played on several poker sites on this PC recently.
Any pointers?

Hi all, I am not sure where else to post this, but hopefully someone here has experience and can help me or assist.
Due to the global situation, my friends and I decided to start playing poker with each other and landed on Pokerstars app as it allows for Home games and to use 'play money'. We are all quite new to the game.

However on the app there seems to be 2 major issues that we can't get around.

We can't increase the limit on time to act , it just ticks down regardless.
more importantly, when someone wins, we barely get a chance to see what the winning hand was or see what was played and the next round immediately starts

Give that we are friends and playing casually and new at the game, also usually having a beer, we would like to slow the game down and discuss or laugh about the hands just played. However this doesn't seem to be an option.

I like everything pokerstars has done with setting up our own community, tables and options, but we can't get past these 2 issues. Is there a way to fix them or a better app/site out there that we should use ?

I'm trying to create a tournament for my buddies to play tonight. It's worked every other time but tonight it's telling me that it can't create the tournament and to wait a few hours. Anyone else have experience with this problem? Any suggestions on other poker options besides home games? We have used the pokerrrr app but like the pokerstars tournament format.

Hey, y'all. Never posted here, so I hope I've got the right sub.
I recently bought an Oculus Rift (CV 1) second hand from someone in my area, and I'm a bit frustrated with the troubleshooting I'm having to do, and nothing seems to work.
I ran the thing for two days with the old specs I listed down below, and while I had noticeable performance issues, I knew that my graphics card was simply not up to par, and in fact, I had ordered a new one in anticipation of this issue (I even splurged and bought a better card than what I had been planning). The delivery had issues, so I decided I'd make the most of it and play with the card I had.
The Rift performed very poorly at first, losing tracking of the controllers constantly, being jittery and stuttering all over the place, not to mention the insane amount of time that it took to get the software working properly (what a nightmare). But, eventually, it got much smoother. Sure, the graphics weren't the prettiest, and the controllers would lose spacial tracking from time to time (they would rotate but not move in 3D), games like Beat Saber and The Lab were playable with some degree of patience. The Oculus Home was fluid and had little in the way of issues, and I managed to get around to decorating a bit.
Now, this morning, the new card arrived. I was actually in the middle of a song in Beat Saber, and at this point, the game was working fluidly with only minor visual tearing and few if any stutters. I installed the new card, got the drivers from Microsoft, and gave the system a few restarts for good measure. I booted up the Oculus software, put on the headset, and began the stress test.
Beat Saber worked for all of 20 minutes before I started noticing the stutters. They were minor, but they would compound and affect performance. It went downhill from there. I loaded Pavlov VR and the damn thing shit itself. Stuttering everywhere, every time I turned my head it seized and jerked itself around. My controllers immediately lost spacial tracking and I had to take the Rift off my head for fear of inducing an epileptic fit. I killed the app and decided to try again with Beat Saber. The stutters were worse this time, and loading took longer than before. My controllers lost tracking more often and seemed to not be as accurate anymore, and I would miss beat blocks that I was clearly hitting because of the jitters and jerks. If I made any quick movements, the game spazzes and lags even harder, making the experience infuriating (how am I supposed to FC TTFAF like this?).
I found that I had outdated drivers for the new card, so I updated everything and made sure nothing would be hampering performance (some other people seemed to have issues with Afterburner and RivaTuner, so I made sure both were killed before playing). I hopped on a third time and nearly yeeted the Oculus at my wall. The stutters and visual blends/tears had spread to the Oculus Home and to the menus. If I try to load a moderate game like Pokerstars VR, Pavlov, or VRChat, the headset will have an aneurysm, even cutting sound to itself completely until I restart my computer (no, seriously, it just refuses to play sound).
I consulted a close friend of mine, who works in IT and is more knowledgable than me about the more advanced side of computer science (which is not to say I don't know anything, he's just much older and wiser than me), and he opined that the onboard graphics cores and their drivers for my processor are interfering with my GPU's performance. He said that AMD and Nvidia drivers don't play nice and usually mess with eachother, and that he would like to disable the Radeon Graphics cores in my processor through the BIOS, a process he claims is dangerous and could brick my PC (His exact words were "I can fix it, but you're not gonna like it." He was right.), which is why he refused to just walk me through it over the phone.
My understanding is that as long as all my displays (including my Oculus) are connected to my GPU, the BIOS should automatically shut off any onboard graphics cores and disable their drivers, and nowhere can I find that AMD and Nvidia products don't flow well together in gaming setups (I read about a system that even uses both AMD and Nvidia GPUs together), so I'm not sure where he's getting this idea.
What should I do from here? Is he right? Have I missed something? Did I forget a step somewhere?
I would really appreciate any input or possible solutions to my conundrum. I understand y'all probably have better things to do than help me out, so I'm thankful for any time y'all spend here trying to help me.

UPDATE: I used UUD to get rid of the old AMD GPU drivers and did a clean install of driver version 430.64. No change in performance, audio cutout is still an issue.
UPDATE 2: Found out my USB drivers were out of date, so I brought those up to spec. Also, rearranged the sensors on my USB ports as per u/Rotaryknight's instructions. Performance has bettered somewhat, but I still get stutters in menus. During actual games of Beat Saber, it seems the tracking has improved moderately. It seems to be able to keep up with me better, but if the song is too fast, it still does lose tracking momentarily. Going to try other games.

Hey all,
So my experience with Oculus in the past month has gone from the best gaming experience I've had to frustrating overnight.
Starting today, whenever I would go into the virtual desktop app on the dash I noticed when I moved the joystick to scroll in a window, it moved my avatar in my home. Then, when I went back in to the oculus home my hands were gone. They would sometimes pop back, but with seemingly no reason to it. This happens also with the games I play.
This has be extremely frustrating as I often jump to my desktop to change music while gaming and to browse while playing something like pokerstars.
Is anyone aware of this issue or a fix?
I've tried setting up the sensors again, doing a memory test, and reinstalling the oculus software. No luck so far.
My experience up to today was smooth as butter, any help to resolve this would be awesome.

Edit: So it seems to be the dash in general. If I use the dash 9 times out of 10 my hands disappear.
While in dash the pointer beams will also sometimes double, with one pair continuing into the home.
I can interact and move around the home while still in dash, which shouldn't happen, and I appear to move hands in both overlapping eachother.
Also sometime even when the hands do come back outside of the dash, they will become anchored in the air at some weird point, only being able to flail around a fixed point.

I've now tried formatting my computer, reinstalled Oculus from the website, setup the devices again, and still this is happening. If I can't get this fixed I've wasted a nice chunk of cash, sad times.

This did not garner as much interest as I had hoped that it would so I am going to officially cancel it. On the bright side, I have gotten a lot of good feedback about both timing and stakes. I will incorporate this into another event that is planned further in advance.

I enjoy playing poker and smoking cigars. I have people to smoke cigars with locally, but have not been able to find a good poker game that is not for more money than I want to play for.
I was doing some research today and see that pokerstars.net offers "Home Games" that allow you to set up private clubs with up to 50 people that can play in tournaments. I thought that it would be fun to do some pokecigar tournaments with all of you here.
I have created a club on the app and was thinking about hosting a tournament tomorrow night (Thursday) at 9PM EST. The buy-in will be for "play-money" but we will all agree to anti 5 cigars with a total value of at least $40.
If we can get at least 6 players, I will host the event, otherwise it will be cancelled. To sign up, you will need to go to pokerstars.net and download the app. You will need to create a username that is exactly the same as your Reddit username so everyone can know who you are. If it is taken already, try putting u/ in front of it. If that does not work, just add a bunch of characters to the end of it.
Once you have installed the app, there is a "home games" tab on the right of the screen. From there you will need to click the Join a Poker Club link. You will need the club ID and password to join. If you would like to join this club, please PM me and I will send you the number after verifying that you are a verified member.
Tomorrow night's game will be a No Limit Hold'em tournament. We will play if at least 6 people show up. I have limited it to 18 people as this is the first time that I am hosting this and I do not think that there will be more interest than that. Please do not register for the tournament if you are not sure if you can show up so everyone that wants a seat can have one.
I will pick who sends who cigars out of a hat after the tournament. The payouts will be as follows (less your ante) for each potential number of participants:

Hello everybody, As the title says, this is my story. From start to finish of this seemingly endless one year journey of playing while underage online (and some live) poker. Most people won't care to read this or will downvote it to oblivion for the simple fact that what I'm doing is technically illegal. I don't mind I just want to share my full story with anyone who might actually care since no one in my life seems to.
It all started in the summer before 9th grade. I was moving to a new school for high school and was eager to meet people. My brother (Let's call him Sam, obviously not his name IRL) and his friends were upperclassman in high school and were playing poker pretty frequently in his friends basement for nickles at a time. Sam invited me to go play poker with his friends one morning. He told me to bring about $20 to chip in for pizza and to get some chips. I spent all day reading up on articles like "Poker Basics" and "Beginner Poker". I look back at these articles now and chuckle to myself about how simple they are but to beginner player me, I was amazed that you weren't supposed to play every hand and that it was not very good to try and bluff your way out of every hand. When I arrived with Sam at the place we were playing, I was kinda nervous about fitting in with all these upperclassmen, but not about the poker at all. I just wanted to have a good time and if I lose a few bucks it's not a big deal. At the end of the night I'm up about $3 and Sam and I left. I still didn't understand variance so I thought I was so much better than Sam who lost his $10 investment fully. I didn't care for poker all that much after the night but thought it was kinda fun just for the social aspect.
Later in the summer, my brother Sam invited me to play poker again. This time, it was a "high stakes" tournament, with a buy-in of $20. I eagerly said yes as I enjoyed my time at the first event and would gladly play again. I was also excited at the prospect of winning $120 for the first place prize. Sam and I showed up and there about 10 people total in the event. I handed in my money and we began to play. I was on fire. I knocked out every single person in the tournament except one, who Sam knocked out. I ended up bubbling my brother who claimed he was a poker god, and it felt so good xD. I won the grand prize of $120 and thought I was a poker prodigy. Once again, I still did not understand variance and thought that most of poker was skill. I was not ever invited back to play poker after that, but I didn't mind. I was happy with my money.
For the longest time I completely forgot about poker until a chord was struck with me and my passion rekindled, this time in a more intense way.
It was the winter break of 9th grade. I was visiting some relatives at a beach (the name I'm not going to disclose because I don't want there to be any way that anyone that knows me IRL can discover this) for Christmas. I had just got a fancy new iPhone and was setting up all these cool apps on it. I set up the ESPN app and was watching live TV from my phone. I saw a rerun of the 2015 WSOP ME on and decided, "hey that might be fun to watch". I immediately became hooked. I saw the bright lights and Joe McKeehen. He was my hero. Staring everyone down like a badass and eventually, as I stayed up until 4 AM to watch him play more Hold 'Em, winning over 7 million dollars. I wanted that to be me so bad. I barely knew what the hands meant or any strategy at all, but from that moment I knew I at least wanted to explore this crumb of a passion for poker. We left a few days after I "discovered" poker.
When I got home I immediately texted my best friends (from my old school) and said, "we have to play poker, I'll teach you all and it will be a ton of fun". The next day I went to my friend's house and laid out this dusty old set of chips and I proceeded to teach my 3 friends and my friends brother the rules of Texas Hold'em and hand rankings. We all put up $5 and started to play. It was a blast, sitting there listening to music chatting with my buds for a few hours, all while starting to win some money. I ended up winning $20 and was extremely satisfied. We started to play more and more on weekends and such and by the time my friends got tired of playing I was up about $150. Obviously they barely knew how to play and my minor knowledge of simply hand rankings gave me a massive edge over them but I still ran hot. My friends started to resent me for taking their money, but I did not feel bad. By the time I stopped playing with his group it was close to the end of February.
I was having trouble making friends at my new school so I thought it would be fun to invite some over to play poker. I told them to bring about $10 but of course no one did. We played a cash game with debts because I insisted that poker was no fun for no money. I ended up winning about $9 and a lot of the others seemed to have a good time. I was pleased with myself for organizing this event and seemed to be making friends at my new school which I was happy about.
Eventually, I was invited to one of my new friend's birthday party. I was so excited to go because I finally felt like I was a part of their group. I must mention, by this point I had discovered Pokerstars play money, and was playing often. I would spend days grinding away, often losing my whole 'bankroll' by simply getting tired and going all-in (Mind you my bankroll was often just one buy in. Pokerstars gave you 3 buy-ins to the lowest level every hour). I still was not studying any sort of basic strategy so I was basically playing bingo. Anyways, I''m getting ready to go to the friends house for the sleepover and I decide to pack some socks full of poker chips. I get there and suggest that we play a little, just for a few bucks. Everyone says they just want to play for fun and I reluctantly agree. Of course the game is a clown fiesta and my frustration with their 'unenlightened' plays was noticeable. In hindsight I was being a real asshole but it's in the past now. Eventually, there was this one kid who wanted to play 1v1 for $20. I set up the SnG format and we played. I won on the first hand, flush over top pair. He wanted to play again for another $20, but he wanted to start with 2x the chips. I agreed thinking I was much superior to him. I won again, this time on the 4th hand with flush over bottom two pair having taken the first half of his stack on the first hand with another flush over top pair. He wanted to play one last time for another $20, this time starting with 3x the chips. Once again, I eagerly agreed and set it up. I bled him dry by C-betting every hand and won again. It was kind of awkward for an hour or so having just taken $60 off a kid at a friendly birthday party. I didn't think much of it.
I continued to play more and more poker with the play money on Pokerstars till I won a 1600 person tourney. I thought I was figuratively a divine figure sent to this Earth to play poker. Unfortunately I was not and would have some sobering experiences in my future.
After about 3 months or so, without playing any 'live' poker and only playing for play money on Pokerstars, I decided to set up an account on a site that had real money under an alias. I thought I was such a badass and began to play freerolls. I was in a constant state of win $2 in a freeroll and then lose it up about until the end of the school year.
Once I had kinda started to play for real money online in these free-rolls, I started to take my game more seriously. I thought I could get better by watching TV poker so I watched hours and hours of past WSOP MEs and PAD and EPTs. and HSP. I knew every famous poker player and began to compare myself most to Tom Dwan, "A young poker genius". Eventually, I discovered what Twitch was. I found Jcarver playing poker and began to watch him every night after school religiously. He was an idol to me. Also around the same time I discovered Poker, which completely opened up my world to strategy and thinking about poker in a more professional manner instead of the "Tehehe I have good cards let me chuck all my money in the pot and hope I win" approach I had before. Although I did not get much strategy content out of Poker I used it as a gateway to other resources such as BlackRains? microstakes videos and other twitch streams like MingtheMerciless who actually analyzed plays and was more learning oriented than Jcarver.
Anyways, all this learning was happening during the spring of my 9th grade year and I was going to another new friends birthday party. All my new friends would be there and I was excited to go. I again, brought some chips and asked if people wanted to play. Everyone seemed reluctant but after some pestering from myself a few split off from the group and we sat at a table and laid out the chips. I suggested to play for $5 but everyone said they would rather play for fun. I began to get in my 'holier-than-thou' attitude and began to lecture them about how "playing for no money is a waste of time". I remember those words exactly. I felt in the moment that I was simply speaking the truth but a later even sobered me to realize how much of an asshole I was for saying that. While we were playing a friend began to say how the deck was rigged because he got an ace two hands in a row. I then went on a long tangent about probability in my 'holier-than-thou' voice and made an ass of myself in front of my friends for not getting the joke and getting frustrated. IMPORTANT: Before this party happened and after I started playing online I started to brag about my poker endeavors online at school and how I was such a badass. My friend leans over to another friend and whispers quite loud, "just don't argue him on this, he's kind of an asshole and poker is his thing " Wow. I realized that all my new friends were only playing poker with me to be polite and not hurt my feelings. I began to realize that I had been hurting my new friendships just for poker. From that moment on I kept my fucking mouth shut about anything poker related.
Over the summer I devoted my entire time to one thing, poker. I told myself at the start of summer that by the end I wanted one thing, a real bankroll to play 2nl with. I grinded freerolls day in and day out and was studying strategy on my phone in my downtime at my summer job. I got free trials for HUDs and was analyzing my plays. I still could not get a bankroll to stick despite multiple attempts by winning freerolls. I figured out a way to deposit on my account using bitcoin without having to verify my age or address or name. I deposited $25 and began to play. I played awfully and justified it as simply running bad. I would donk off a bunch of money playing cash claiming I played a 'high-variance' style and then would bink a tourney to be even. Eventually I got up to $40 through such luck. I went on a binge were I lost $16, then played this sites version of a spin-n-go for my remaining $25 bucks. I was so tilted. I saw my heart drop as the spinner landed on $100. This was my chance. When the first guy got knocked out I was at a 2-1 chip disadvantage. I got it in with AQo vs TT. I lost. I was broken. Everything I had worked for was lost. This experience was very sobering for me. I realized how bad I was playing and I realized how fucked up it was to play that spin-n-go. I finally, after about 8 months, got my head out of my ass. By this time the school year was almost starting so I just quit poker for about 1.5 months till school was about 2 weeks in.
In school one day I kept thinking about that hand, how degenerative it was but also how I could have won $100 if the cards had gone my way. I decided I would reform.
My parents had known about my poker to an extent but I never told, and still haven't, about this degeneracy. I just said one day that I didn't want to play and wanted to focus on being a kid. That was a lie. There was nothing I wanted more than to play poker and earn enough money to withdraw some. Unfortunately under my aliased account, that would never happen because to withdraw you needed to send a bunch of forms of ID and prove you were real, which I was not.
Anyway, I started to forget about poker till one day I saw on twitch Doug Polk doing a bankroll challenge. He reignited my broken passion for poker. This is when I came forward to my dad with a request: to set up a poker account under his name on a new website with a real ($75) bankroll. I promised to be super responsible and would never tell anyone. This was different from my old alias account because I could eventually withdraw, making the money much more real to me. He agreed and I've been playing 2nl ever since. Happy to announce that I'm up a few bucks lifetime and hope to be moving up to 5nl soon enough.
There a lot I left out of this story and I know most people won't read this whole thing but I just want to express how lonely it is to have such a passion and time-sunk into a hobby that is illegal and your friends think you're a dick for talking about. I just wanted to share this whole story with you all since my parents do not want to hear about and my friends sure as hell do not care. If I had one thing to say to an underaged person playing poker, don't do it. Just wait. It's not worth the stress of starting underage when you can just wait a few years. It's not worth the negative affects in social and academic life. It's not worth it period. There is nothing good to come from it besides a deeper knowledge of variance, which is the only thing I've applied in my everyday life as a 10th grader.
TL;DR Played poker, thought I was good. Told all my friends how good I was. Friends called me asshole for always talking about and trying to get them to play poker. Made my life suck. Still love poker and reached the golden end of my underage poker tunnel.

This is Dave Jung and my new ID for reddit, I was the former regional director of Asia for Pokerstars and still the CEO of HeroPoker. I've embarked on a new venture and industry in poker and have entered into the social poker field with a new variant of Hold'em which I've conceived/conceptualized, called, "Hero Hold'em".

As far as I've researched and thought about for the last couple of years, this is the first of its kind, in terms of it being a completely new variant and in production as an online game.

WHAT IS HERO HOLD'EM So, cutting to the chase, I've introduced a community wild card to the game of Hold'em. While wild cards are common in stud/draw games and wilds are common in Hold'em home games as specific cards, i.e. 2's wilds, this should be the first public variant where it includes a community wild card. Since it is the first one, I've named it Hero Hold'em where the community wild card is called the 'Hero Card'.

In terms of game play mechanics, it is nearly identical to Texas Hold'em, 2 hole cards, flop turn river, except the second card on the flop is the 'hero card'. And being a community wild card, it obviously changes to make the strongest hand for the flop, turn & river. This makes it a tough game to follow when you play live or if you're new to hold'em in general. So why make it and why think it can work?

WHY MAKE THIS? Basically, it's a super high action game, and as our tag line goes, Final table hands & Monster showdowns, and for players who know Texas Hold'em and maybe have lost interest in it, they may enjoy this because, not only is it faster pace and more action, you get hands and run in with hands you normally would never have, like getting a royal flush or four of a kind.

Of course, this game is geared specifically for the social gaming market for obvious reasons, the biggest one being the massive amount of variance, but I have 3 objectives in doing this.

1. I want to see if we can tap into poker players who used to be excited in playing Hold'em, but lost interest. Playing this will remind you of playing for the first time again, because it will be hard to follow your hands initially. * *2. I think if this game is good at reactivating 'retired' poker players then it will also revive their interest in Hold'em in general, so even though the current market is on a decline, those players who haven't had a reason to revisit poker at all, this could be a teaser to re-pique their dormant interest. * *3. I want to see if this 'experiment' of sorts can also lead to a variant which can branch off a new standard, frankly, Hero Hold'em will never supercede or replace Texas Hold'em, but maybe we can find a new variant in the future that can add to the current duopoly of Texas Hold'em and Omaha.

WHY A NEW VARIANT THAN FEATURE? So why a new variant rather than a new feature? Well, ok, I've been in this industry as an exec since 2007 and as a consultant since 2004 and in pc gaming since 1999 and I understand games in general. And I what I think a lot of people miss is that there are certain attributes that make Texas Hold'em a hit game, and one of them is really playing the players. Features that focus on the jackpot or just the cards are great for general excitement, but they also take away from what drew players to hold'em in the first place.

The other consideration is that, yes, this is online, so having webcams seems like a great feature, but that also takes away from the convenience of playing online - I mean, we seek to have an identity online, or, persona, but we still want the feature to play in our PJs or just for 15 mins and not get in crap for it - after all, for a lot of people, live home game poker is always an option/substitute.

I think, Hero Hold'em is an expensive experiment or hypothesis that asks, what about Texas Hold'em can we maintain, while, creating more fun. Of course, fun goes hand in hand with more action etc, but it is about an overall experience that isn't directed to just about winning, but about the act of playing.

** FOR A GAME: WINNING IS GOOD, BUT FUN IS BETTER** What I mean about that is, most online poker (in the real money segment) nowadays is directed to hold on to players who want to just win, but trying to attract recreational players for the 'winners' to win off of. And really, this is the sole goal of these sites and the sole goal of a serious poker player is simply to win. But recreational player's goal is fundamentally different. They want to enjoy the game and winning is a big part of it, but is not the only part of it. So, to be clear, is this a game for pros? No, it's not, it's not catering to players who just want to win only, it's a game that first and foremost is trying to bring out the fun in the game. And in that respect, I think it is a good step in that direction, maybe too much of a step, but, I think it is a way forward opposed to the what others are focusing on.

Of course I've given it a massive amount of thought and for the first time in my career in this industry I've been able to be part of the development process and so here we are. I feel excited and while this may never qualify as professional poker, if it is like a gateway point that rekindles someone's love of poker (who have stopped playing completely) or itself is just a really good social poker game, I think it was worth the time and effort on it.

THE FACEBOOK BETA So, we've launched it as a beta on Facebook today and we have friends playing at the moment. HeroHold'em on Facebook There has been a massive learning curve for me as I was not business familiar with the social gaming space other than in Asia, so we have achievements etc. It is a work in progress, but I think our game will never be as busy as the other social poker games and I'm fine with that, I'd like the game play to be the drawing factor anyway.

So you can type on Facebook, Hero Hold'em Poker and check it out and join it. So I'd really like everyone's feedback on the game variant itself, the platform etc I'm improving, just takes time.

LOOKING FOR FEEDBACK But please keep in mind: -It's going to be targeted to players who have stopped playing hold'em or poker in general. -It's entirely meant to be a social poker game and if it piques interest back into Texas Hold'em then cool. -It's not meant to replace Texas Hold'em, that's not the objective.

The game play feedback thus far has been: 1. If it wasn't online so that you could see where you are at-in terms of hand value/set, it would be too hard to follow initially. 2. It definitely is a different game that Texas Hold'em, like there are no 2 pairs, it will either be 3 of kind or a full house. 3. Low pocket pairs (as hole cards) are super powerful now because they don't lose value if a face card hits on the flop. 4. Trips are the new pair, and a pair is the new high card. 5. It's not a question now whether the Hero or the Villain has a good hand, it's a matter that yes, there is a made hand and whether or not you're trapping or getting trapped. 6. So this game has definitely moved from a focus on bluffing to trapping in terms of frequency. 7. This game really only appeals to those who have played Texas Hold'em, for those who haven't, they have a hard time understanding what is really going on. But, what we've gotten good feedback on from non-pros is that, yes, it's fun. (thank God for that lol, of course we tested it live etc, but still)*

THE GODLIKE FACTOR I kinda feel it's like when you play a PC game with a godlike mode or Street Fight 2, but when they had those ultra versions when you can continually throw fireballs etc. It would be boring if you didn't suffer to play the real version and know how hard and rewarding that original game is, like, 'what is this dumb game, it's too easy or too op,' but if you've suffered and really understand the game makes you godlike, then it makes you feel awesome for a time before you turn off the godlike and get crushed again, then turn the godlike mode back on to relax. I think that is what the concept of this particular variant does.

But down side is, it likely won't appeal to absolutely new players, but that is fine, I mean if you haven't played Hold'em in the last 10 years, other than being under age, what rock have you been living under?

So I'd love everyone's feedback on everything, please keep in mind, really this is a beta, so while the game play works etc, there are lot or endless amount of upgrades we are looking at doing, but being a social game, it will never be as function heavy as a client based downloaded application. If there are any bugs, please let me know here. It is written in HTML5.

I chose reddit first and will post this on twoplustwo (but in the business section) because I did want an open discussion on it with a very diverse pool of players, and I'll post this in the business section of twoplustwo later because I think they'll look at it as more of a business discussion rather than getting into a debate on recreational and professional players.

Oh, and yes, it's only available on Facebook desktop. You can play in the mobile browser by going to heroholdem.com and loggin in via facebook, but all game play is via facebook at the moment. So basically, tablet will work, but best on desktop, mobile hasn't been optimized yet. We are close to getting on to Google play, maybe in the next 2 weeks, you have to pick your battle with resources, but I figure once we have Facebook stored with all the achievements and feedback, then moving on to other platforms should be our next priority.

So thanks in advance for any feedback, negative or positive, I mean I have risked a lot to get it done before going for mass public feedback, but that's how I roll, fortune favours the bold. Has worked so far lol.
